A Cure for Madness

Within the darkness there is comfort,

Within the darkness there is safety,

Within the darkness there is solace,

Within the darkness there is reassurance,

Within the darkness there isn’t adversity,

Within the darkness there isn’t heartbreak,

Within the darkness there isn’t distress,

Within the darkness there isn’t misadventure

The repeating mantra of living with the confine,

Of a hopelessly rotted mind,

The repeating melody of a song,

That’s been untuned so long,

The comfort of the armor that protects,

The fear when it sudden cracks,

An unwillingness to rejoin the fight,

But seeing in the crack that gleam of light,

Push through the fissure because,

you see the armor for the cage it was,

A shield put up to escape the noise,

But it is the silence that destroys,

Step into the light,

welcome the might,

“We are powerful beyond measure,”

Time to escape this crushing pressure,

When the darkness is comfortable,

It is time to break the quiet,

When the darkness is enjoyable, It is time to be non-compliant
